FCC Harassing You?  Doubtful!

So, you've been getting one letter after another from the "FCC", telling you that you need to send them money to renew your license, or that you need to buy an FCC booklet.  Most likely it is not the FCC harassing you, but a private company.  There are several companies that send out official looking letters to FCC license holders, like yourself.  All of these companies want is your money, They'll sell you new licenses, renewals, or even worthless books, which you could download FREE form the internet.

These tactics can complicate matters. As a result, after receiving several of these letters, one is tempted to "trash" what they may consider to be "junk mail." This practice can be dangerous, because the FCC will send mail you from time to time. The most common FCC mailing is when your license is about 3 months from expiring.  It is important that you don't let your license expire, as it can cost you hundreds of dollars to re-establish you legal operating status.  Western Communications can handle all of your FCC licensing needs, and we won't try to trick you with "official looking letterhead" or sell you anything that you don't really need.  Our fees are low, and our people are skilled.

So, next time you get an official looking letter, look it over very closely.  You'll know if it's from the FCC by looking at the return address. The return address will actually say "Federal Communications Commission." If you don't know if it's legit, just FAX us a copy or bring it by Western Communications, and we'll let you know if it's the "real thing!"
